2011 Urban Visions Bishkek

Project is the presentation of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, made on the base of investigation of the urban space in the context of ongoing daily life of its various parts.
During year, several united in Б'Art Contemporary - pursued their artistic investigation of the city area and developed their own methodology and approach of artistic intervention in Bishkek, combining competence in contemporary art with current social and economic development of the city. Through methodological means of artistic exploration artists are given an opportunity to identify changes caused by social effects and present results of their explorations in exhibition abroad. Four artists from Bishkek have been invited to Germany by Kulturreferat Munich for art residency in Villa Waldberta in April, May and June 2011 and for exhibition and further programmer in the international artist’s studios DomagkAteliers.
The exhibition “Urban Visions” included seven Kyrgyz artists and presented as a result of the project opened for the public an opportunity to travel to another world – a symbiosis of nomadic, Soviet and capitalistic culture which are taking place in one city, that is Bishkek.
